Production is slated to begin in Japan next month on prolific master of horror Takashi Miike‘s new film starring pop sensation Charli Xcx.
Deadline reports that Milly Alcock (Supergirl), Norman Reedus (“The Walking Dead”), Sho Kasamatsu (“Tokyo Vice”), and Kiko Mizuhara (Attack on Titan) have joined the cast.
The as-yet-untitled film will follow three best friends who meet up in Kyoto, Japan, to rekindle their lifelong friendships. What is intended to be a carefree girls trip devolves into a nightmare when Katie (Charli xcx) becomes possessed by a violent, tortured spirit (Mizuhara).
Ross Evans and Yumiko Aoyagi wrote the script, based on an original idea by Charli and Miike.
