Chase Infiniti favored archival styling in a custom GapStudio dress by Gap Inc.’s executive vice president and creative director Zac Posen for Sunday night’s BET Awards in Los Angeles.
The “One Battle After Another” breakout star wore a dress inspired by Gap’s archival Happy Stripe sweater from the Holiday 2000 campaign. The dress offered a new variation on the sweater’s original knit through a photorealistic digital print, which transformed into an ultra-lightweight, soft stretch mesh fabric that recreated the sweater’s distinct use of color, texture and dimension.

The form-fitting, long-sleeve dress included a diamond cutout at the waist with a short train that trailed Infiniti. “I’ve always loved revisiting Gap’s most iconic design codes and asking how they can feel new again,” Posen said in a statement.
“The Happy Stripe is one of those instantly recognizable signatures, optimistic, colorful, and full of personality. Reimagining it as a photo-real digital print on sheer stretch mesh allowed us to preserve its spirit while transforming it into something unexpected,” Gap Inc.’s executive vice president and creative director said.

“It merges two defining ideas of the ’90s into a modern summer silhouette that feels fresh, effortless, and unmistakably Gap. Seeing Chase Infiniti introduce the print on the red carpet felt like the perfect first expression of the idea. She brought a confidence and modernity that made it feel completely of the moment.”
Infiniti’s glam featured soft elements from her makeup by Amber Dreadon to her natural hair, styled by Coree Moreno. A pair of statement earrings were added to Infiniti’s look, which was styled by duo Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald.
