Christina Applegate has broken her silence on her alleged hospitalisation to share a health update.
It follows reports, which were first shared by TMZ, that the 54-year-old Dead to Me actress was admitted late last month for unspecified reasons.
Although the star has always been candid about her struggles with multiple sclerosis (MS), it’s unknown whether her hospital admission was related to this or something separate.
MS is a long-term, autoimmune neurological condition that affects the brain and spinal cord – it cannot currently be cured, but treatment can help manage it.
Applegate’s rep told Tyla last week: “I have no comment whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are. She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast.”
This followed an announcement on 31 March from the actresses’ MeSsy podcast co-host, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who told listeners that the show would be going on a brief break while the duo are on book tours.

On Monday (20 April), Applegate spoke out to give an update following the hospitalisation reports, which left many fans worried.
She took to Instagram to share a picture of a mug with the writing ‘Kissy Kissy’ sitting on top of her memoir, You With The Sad Eyes, which was released on 3 March.
Applegate wrote in her caption: “Thank you for the outpouring of love and well-wishes. Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick, and I’m getting stronger and better every day.”
She assured: “I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.”
Fans rushed to the comments to send their support towards the actress, with one writing: “Sending the biggest hug.”
A second penned: “Christina, just in case today’s mail got lost: We the public would like to formally submit that we adore you, support you, and RIDE AT DAWN FOR YOU ALWAYS.”
And a third and fourth chimed in with: “Sending you all the love my queen” and “Your strength in the face of such insurmountable hardships is truly awe-inspiring.”

Applegate first shared news of her MS diagnosis in the summer of 2021 and, since then, has been open about her health journey, while raising awareness for the condition.

Speaking to co-anchor Robin Roberts, she candidly admitted, “It still sucks, Robin. It really does. I have so many friends who have MS. And we talk to each other constantly. And I don’t have one that says, ‘I’m great.'”
“There is no great. There’s a better day and a less sh*tty day. This is a lifelong disease with no cure. Period.”
When asked ‘where she is with the grieving process’ of living with the condition, the actress responded: “Where am I at with acceptance? Not at all. I hate it.”
Praising her teen daughter Sadie, she added: “I wake up every day and go, ‘I’m Sadie’s momma.’ And that, to me, is why I’m still here.”
