Country music star Keith Urban’s rumored romance with his guitarist, Maggie Baugh, is ‘absolutely not true’, according to one of Maggie’s close friends.
The rumor first began circulating amid Keith’s divorce proceedings from wife, Nicole Kidman, however it now appears Maggie is loved up and unlikely to be dating or involved with Keith.
The 25-year-old musician is said to instead be loved up with California lighting designer Cameron Coley, and now one of her close friends in the country music industry has spoken out to shut down the romance rumors.
Speaking with Taste of Country, Alexandra explained, “Honestly, I was heartbroken for them because the media scrutiny is insane and the things that people say … They’re like, stirring up rumors about Maggie Baugh.
“I’m like, ‘She’s a good friend of mine and I know that’s absolutely not true.'”
Nicole filed for divorce from Keith on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Within the document, Nicole cited irreconcilable differences as the reason and wrote the time of separation as the filing date. The day before, Monday, Sept. 29, there were reports that Nicole and Keith had separated since the summer after 19 years of marriage. The reports also added that Nicole was trying to save the marriage.
Nicole and Keith first met in January 2005 and got married in June 2006. The former couple share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. In the divorce filing, Nicole requested to be the primary residential parent in the custody agreement.
After filing for divorce, a source reportedly close to the family told PEOPLE that she is “surprisingly level-headed” but was stressing before the news became public. “She’s been stressed because she knew the separation would eventually become public, and she was dreading it. But she’s surprisingly level-headed and calm. Now that it’s out, she’s just focused on what’s ahead and her girls,” the source told the outlet.
