Little Feat has been bending genres since 1969, earning praise from Jimmy Page, Bonnie Raitt, and countless others while building one of the most loyal cult followings in rock. For more than five decades, they’ve carried that unmistakable sound across generations. And now, they’re celebrating a milestone 50 years in the making.

On Wednesday, September 3, the band took to Instagram with news that sent their devoted fanbase into overdrive. “On Oct 24, @rhino_records are releasing a 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Little Feat’s The Last Record Album,” they wrote, teasing newly remastered audio, demos, and a full 1975 concert recording from Boston’s Orpheum Theatre. They also plugged a Rhino.com exclusive—an unearthed 1976 live set from London’s Charlton Athletic Football Ground.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the original 1975 album hit No. 36 on the Billboard chart and included tracks like “Long Distance Love” and “All That You Dream,” the latter featuring Linda Ronstadt on backing vocals. The new four-disc edition features outtakes, alternate versions, and the Boston show with staples like “Fat Man in the Bathtub,” “Oh Atlanta,” and “Willin’.” Vinyl and digital formats will also be available.

This anniversary release comes on the heels of one of the busiest stretches in the band’s long career. In May, Little Feat released Strike Up the Band, their first album of original material in more than a decade and the follow-up to 2024’s Sam’s Place. That blues-driven record earned the group a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album. (The award ultimately went to the Taj Mahal Sextet for Swingin’ Live at the Church in Tulsa.)

Over Labor Day weekend, they also wrapped Feat Fest 2025, three intimate, guest-packed nights at Woodstock’s Bearsville Theater that were recorded for a possible live release.

As for the band’s lineup, founding keyboardist Bill Payne anchors the group, alongside bassist Kenny Gradney and percussionist Sam Clayton, both of whom joined in the early 1970s. Guitarist Fred Tackett has been with the band since 1988, while Scott Sharrard (guitar, vocals) joined in 2019 and Tony Leone (drums, vocals) followed in 2020. The current roster carries on a legacy shaped by founding guitarist Lowell George, who died in 1979, and longtime members Richie Hayward (drums) and Paul Barrere (guitar), both of whom have also passed.
