Pro dancer Sasha Farber may not be competing during this season of “Dancing With the Stars,” but he appears to be staying close with host Julianne Hough.
In a joint Instagram video shared on Nov. 8, Farber and Hough are seen demonstrating a new dance move in which he flips her upside down.
“New trick unlocked!!!! TRY IT!!! We don’t have fun at all, also this is right before I stepped in dog s—,” Farber wrote in the caption.
Given the intimacy of the dance move and the fact that Farber was shirtless while Hough wore a bikini, fans began to wonder whether there was anything romantic between them.
“Hard launch?” commented one person in the comment section.
“Are you dating ?” asked another.
Meanwhile, a third argued that Hough’s bikini was too revealing for them to just be friends. “Wait … is this a soft launch ???? Thong bikini & flipping around … that’s not just ‘friendship’ … am I wrong ???” they wrote.
However, not everyone was too certain that they were an item. “Sheesh I guess two people can’t post a dance reel without people thinking it’s a hard launch anymore,” read one comment.
Both Farber and Hough are believed to be single after previously being married. Farber was married to fellow former “DWTS” pro dancer Emma Slater from 2018 to 2023. Meanwhile, Hough was married to former Canadian ice hockey player Brooks Laich from 2017 to 2022.
Farber is currently sitting out on ‘DWTS” Season 34, a move that has disappointed fans. He didn’t give any specific reason for his absence, but told E! News that he was “very excited for the new cast and celebrities” ahead of the season premiere.
This isn’t the first time he chose not to compete during a season. After making his “DWTS” debut in 2013 alongside Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, he didn’t appear as a pro dancer again until 2016, when he was paired with Kim Fields.
Farber also sat out during Season 25 of the ballroom competion series in 2017. He returned the following year to compete alongside Tonya Harding.
