Denise Richards got emotional as she detailed her estranged husband Aaron Phypers’ alleged abuse in an L.A. courtroom on Monday, October 6 and Tuesday, October 7.
Phypers “would often threaten to throw me through the windows and off [hotel] balconies,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 54, tearfully claimed on her first day of testimony at a hearing regarding the temporary restraining order she filed against Phypers, 53, in July, per People.
“He’s almost killed me so many damn times,” the Wild Things star added, accusing him of multiple alleged violent incidents, several of which came after he looked through the messages on her phone.
But the day Richards knew their nearly seven-year marriage to the actor was “over,” she testified, was when he hit her following cosmetic surgery in May, Fox News reported.
“There’s been physical abuse, but It kept getting worse and worse,” the Dancing with the Stars alum claimed. “I felt broken and defeated and so alone and just so vulnerable because I just had an extensive surgery. Him knowing the body and wellness and working on people … and to do that to your wife?”

According to People, Richards alleged in her October 7 testimony that Phypers caused her to have three concussions. On the stand, she said one was after giving her a black eye in January 2022, and the second was after slamming her into a concrete wall that same year.
She suffered a third concussion, she testified, when she woke up to find him “squeezing” her head at a Chicago hotel in April, 2025. It felt, she said, “like he was crushing my skull.”
When she began suffering from nausea and “very painful” headaches, her then-husband “scanned” her using equipment at his holistic healing center in Malibu — “and it showed up that I had a concussion.”
However, Richards admitted that she was not diagnosed by a medical doctor and did not tell authorities, People reported.
Phypers, who has denied abusing Richards, filed for divorce in July, accusing Richards of pill-popping and infidelity. She has denied his claims.
