Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice has spilled the beans on life inside Fort Dix prison, where Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently serving time.
Diddy, who just turned 56, is serving a 50-month sentence in a New Jersey prison after being found guilty of two counts of transportation for prostitution.
His release date is set for June 4, 2028, although he was initially scheduled to be released a month earlier.
Joe Giudice, famed for his stint on RHONJ, served 41 months in the same prison where Diddy is now, following his 2014 fraud conviction.
According to Joe, Diddy’s experience at FCI Fort Dix will hinge on “how he carries himself,” adding, “As long as he keeps a low profile and doesn’t try to act like a big shot, he’ll be fine.”
In an interview with US Weekly, Joe claimed he saw inmates engaging in group sex in the wee hours of the morning.
“I got up at, like, three or four in the morning to go to the bathroom, and you would see the craziest things in there, people you would never imagine,” Joe recounted, adding, “[The guards] hear the shower going at night, and they just look the other way.”
He also witnessed violence erupt over trivial matters during his time in prison, telling the media outlet, “I’ve seen people get stabbed over an onion. You ain’t in there with the most stable people.”
Joe also pointed out that Diddy can access certain perks behind bars. “You can get your clothes tailored and chefs making food for you. That’s just how it is,” the 53 year old explained.
Another former Fort Dix inmate also shared insider information about the facility, claiming the living conditions there are “horrible.
“There’s one bathroom per floor with toilets and showers, and everything is broken. A lot of the food is expired. It’s horrible. They don’t care,” they claimed. “I was there a day and a half, and I [told a] kid [I just met], ‘This isn’t a jail, this is an insane asylum!’ and he agreed. It was a zoo.”
However, Bill Baroni, a Seton Hall Law School professor who served three months at Fort Dix, offered some favorable observations about the facility. “Diddy’s life will be so much easier where he is now. He’s going from one of the most severe prisons in America to a low-security [one],” he said.
An FCI Fort Dix spokesperson has addressed the remarks, telling Page Six, “Any findings or accusations of sexual assault or physical assaults are not tolerated. Such matters are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. Specific investigative matters and details are considered non-public information.”
Diddy has been handed a 50-month prison sentence after being found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Despite also facing charges for sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, the jury acquitted him on both counts.
Diddy has consistently maintained his innocence.
