Disneyland is preparing to begin work on what is expected to be a Disney Springs-style outdoor shopping mall on the Toy Story parking lot as part of the $1.9 billion DisneylandForward project.
Disneyland has filed confidential building permits with the City of Anaheim for the Toy Story parking lot at 250 and 350 W. Katella Ave., according to Theme Park Wizard.

The Disneyland application remains in the early stages of plan check review and could change as the proposed project evolves, according to city officials.
The two Katella Avenue addresses are located on either side of the Clementine Street entrance to the Toy Story parking lot across the street from the Anaheim Gardenwalk outdoor shopping mall.
The Toy Story surface parking lots in that area stretch for about 1,000 feet along Katella Avenue between the Riviera and Anaheim Islander motels on the west and Avis rental car and Hampton Inn hotel on the east.
The DisneylandForward project envisions the Toy Story parking lot on the southeast corner of the theme park resort becoming an outdoor shopping mall modeled after Disney Springs at Walt Disney World in Florida.

The Disney Entertainment Destination eastside expansion would bring together theme park experiences, hotels, retail, dining and entertainment on the Toy Story parking lot next to the Anaheim Convention Center.
