Every year, the Goodwill of Orange County gives shoppers the chance to snag items left unclaimed at Disneyland

When 21-year-old Disneyland cast member Brooke Guzman arrived at the Disneyland Goodwill sale on Sept. 20 at 10:30 a.m., the line was already wrapped around the building — so long she couldn’t even see where it ended.
The annual event, hosted by Goodwill of Orange County, gives shoppers the chance to snag items left unclaimed in the theme park’s lost and found. Though Guzman had always wanted to go, this year marked her first time, and stepping inside left her stunned.
The space was lined with rows of tables and bins, divided into categories like electronics, clothing, home goods and Disney-specific merchandise.
“I was honestly shocked to see so many bins full of items and also surprised to see how organized every section was,” the Whittier, Calif., native tells PEOPLE. “I was for sure overwhelmed by the amount of items to dig through — you definitely have to have a lot of patience. But I was also so excited to see what I could find.”
At first, the atmosphere was calm, since only Disney cast members were allowed inside before 11 a.m.
But once the general public entered, Guzman says, the energy shifted. “It got a little more hectic with people searching for the best deals they could find,” she says. “You could tell some people were there for fun, and others were there for resales.”

Table of items from Disney Goodwill sale
Among the first items to catch her eye was an Anker battery pack her boyfriend spotted at the electronics table. “We already have a couple at home and know how expensive they are, so to find that at the sale was a steal,” she says.
Along with this, she also came across a body weight scale, rice cooker, several hair tools and more than a few Disney treasures.
“I knew I was going in looking for sunglasses and really anything I could buy for a good price,” she adds. “I ended up buying five pairs of sunglasses, two magnetic plushies (one Lotso and one Winnie the Pooh), a portable Mickey fan, the Anker battery pack, a Mickey hoodie and a lock.”

Sunglasses bin at Disney Goodwill sale
Wanting to share the experience, Guzman filmed the event for TikTok, focusing on the finds that surprised her most: bins overflowing with sunglasses, rows of abandoned strollers and even boxes of Mickey ears.
Her hope was to bring more attention to the event, especially with the amazing deals that so many people could benefit from. Since then, her video has gone viral, garnering over 3.6 million views and nearly 3,000 comments.
“Who forgot a pressure cooker at Disney…,” one user joked. Another wrote, “How did that many people go to Disney with a stroller and go home without it?!?” Someone else chimed in: “So this is where my Tiffany bracelet and Ray-Bans ended up 😭💔.”
“Honestly, I cannot stop thinking about the body weight scale and why someone might bring that on vacation,” Guzman says. “It was a good laugh.”

Another table of items from Disney Goodwill sale
Nicole Morrison, director of marketing and communications for Goodwill of Orange County, tells PEOPLE the sale is held once a year and features everything unclaimed from Disneyland’s lost and found. Items are sorted by category and sold in the marketplace, with all proceeds supporting Goodwill’s mission of job training and sustainable employment.
The event is typically popular, and this year, over 1,800 members of the public lined up as early as 6 a.m. before the doors even opened. Cast members are given early access before doors open to everyone else.
The total amount raised this year was $119,263.
Since the sale, Guzman took to her TikTok again to share a haul of everything she bought.
“Finally got to doing a haul, I feel like these were all such good steals & thank you to everyone who left these behind LOL,” she captioned the video.
“I really hope others are able to attend and get some great deals in the future,” she says.
