Ellie Goulding released a music video for her new song “Destiny”
The video stars her boyfriend Beau Minniear
“Destiny” is her first new music since 2023, and first since she separated from husband Caspar Jopling in 2024
Ellie Goulding is ready for her next era!
The British singer, 38, released her new single “Destiny” on Friday, Nov. 14, alongside a sexy music video starring her boyfriend Beau Minniear.
The dreamy pop track marks Goulding’s first new solo material since 2023, when she released her fifth album Higher Than Heaven, and her first since she announced her separation from husband Caspar Jopling in 2024 after four-and-a-half years of marriage.
“Recording this was like a catharsis, it made me feel so much better – like the prize was me all along,” she said in a statement. “Instead of putting my everything into these men, this song was my first feeling of straight-up escape and empowerment. When I heard the track I was in love with it…To me it sounds like surrender. It sounds like let it happen. That’s why it is called ‘Destiny,’ it sounds like what will be will be and accepting it.”

In the video, directed by Floria Sigismondi, Goulding sings her way around a stately manor home in the country as she spends time with the enigmatic Minniear, 28, whose face is not shown.
At one point, the two enjoy a decadent feast, complete with a seductive licking of a knife, and later, she runs her hands down his six-pack abs and they kiss.
“I’ve seen the light, I’ve seen it all/I hit the lotto and I found you,” she sings.
Goulding and Minniear went public with their romance during an outing in London in September, two months after the actor shared a racy photo of the “Lights” singer to Instagram that featured her laying nude in bed.
In an interview with NME, Goulding opened up about first hearing “Destiny” amid her separation from Jopling, with whom she shares son Arthur, 4.

“I first heard this track when I had recently separated from my husband. This was at a really turbulent time for me because I was trying to navigate what felt like a separation of all separations. It was a marriage, not just a relationship,” she said. “I didn’t know what else to do other than make music.”
The star said she saw producer Jack Ronchon playing guitar on Instagram and was transfixed, and soon reached out to him to work on music together. She said she’s spent time writing in Nashville and Los Angeles, and is “just making music that I love.”
