Global film and television studio Fifth Season (“Severance,” “Friendship”) and premium content production company Picturestart (“Together”) have extended their film and TV relationship with a multi-year deal.

Terms of the deal include Fifth Season providing business affairs, finance, production, and strategic insight services to Picturestart and the companies will increase film and TV co-productions. Picturestart will continue to oversee its own robust film and television slate, with senior production executives Jessica Switch, Julia Hammer and Emily Wissink entering new agreements with the company. Erik Feig, the former studio head who founded Picturestart and is its largest investor, will serve as executive chairman.

More from Variety

“Extending our partnership brings together the best of both worlds, empowering Picturestart’s excellent creative team with our powerful global infrastructure and partner network,” stated Fifth Season CEO Graham Taylor. (Picturestart has been in partnership with Fifth Season — then Endeavor Content — since its 2019 launch, when the global film and television studio was among its initial investors.)

“Picturestart quickly established itself as one of the industry’s most exciting production companies, and we’ve long appreciated its work,” Taylor continued. “In its new form, it is positioned well to bring its bold storytelling to audiences everywhere — while supporting artists at every stage. I look forward to achieving great things alongside Erik and the fantastic Picturestart team.”

Added Feig: “I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished at Picturestart over the last six years with the support of our partners and creative collaborators. I am also so impressed by the creative team who has done so with me: Julia, Jessica, and Emily have been incredible colleagues, and they have proven themselves to be outstanding producers and executives. I know they will thrive and excel leading Picturestart as they embark on this new chapter with our friends at Fifth Season.”

Picturestart most recently released the Dave Franco and Alison Brie-starring horror hit “Together,” which was one of Sundance’s biggest-ever sales. The company’s upcoming projects include “4 Kids Walk into a Bank,” starring Liam Neeson, Talia Ryder, and Whitney Peak, set for theatrical release via Amazon MGM Studios in August 2026; “Yeti,” directed by Michael Chaves; “The Masque of the Red Death,” starring Mikey Madison, for A24; “The Nowhere Game,” starring Mckenna Grace and Kiernan Shipka; a live-action Bratz film with Amazon MGM and Kim Kardashian; and Midnight Sun, the animated “Twilight Saga” adaptation for Netflix.

Fifth Season’s recent output includes films including “Friendship,” “80 for Brady,” “Book Club” and “The Lost Daughter,” as well as award-winning series like “Severance,” “Nine Perfect Strangers” and “Tokyo Vice.” Fifth Season’s active and upcoming series include “Chief of War,” created and led by Jason Momoa, for Apple TV+; Matthew Heineman’s “The Savant,” starring Jessica Chastain, for Apple TV+; “East of Eden,” adapting John Steinbeck’s epic for Netflix, starring Florence Pugh and Mike Faist; “The Good Daughter, “starring Rose Byrne and Meghann Fahy, adapted from Karin Slaughter’s novel; and “His & Hers,” starring Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal, based on Alice Feeney’s bestseller.
