GloRilla Shares New Songs, Forgives Young Thug

Memphis rap star GloRilla release her pretty-great full-length debut GLORIOUS about a year ago, and she recently collaborated with Summer Walker and performed with Tyler, The Creator at Camp Flog Gnaw. But you don’t care about that, do you? I’m sorry. I don’t mean to impugn you like that. Maybe you care about everything that GloRilla does. I’m just saying that she got a lot more attention when Young Thug complained about her “big-ass head” and “big mouth” on a leaked phone call from jail.

Young Thug complained about a lot of his peers in his leaked jail phone calls, but GloRilla was one of the only ones who directly responded. After the leak, she tweeted, “Mind you dis da same n***a blowing my phone up to ask what color my eyes is lmaooo.” For his part, Thug apologized directly to Glo, tweeting, “first of all I’m sorry to u for my words and I honestly don’t think ur ugly at all, I was speaking from jail just having a hard time with life.. I don’t like bashing girls and hardly ever did.”

In a recent Complex interview, GloRilla said that she’s spoken to Thug since the apology and that they’re “cool… It was a funny conversation. You know, I don’t take a lot of stuff too serious. Like, I joke. Especially if it ain’t no death or fighting matter, nothing like that, I ain’t gonna take it too serious.” She doesn’t sound too sure about a collaboration, though.

This morning, GloRilla releases two new singles of her own. “March” is an old-school Memphis head-knocker about how Glo will beat up your whole family if you talk shit. It’s got a video where she takes part in an HBCU marching-band performance, and that always looks cool as hell. She pairs that single with the tough but vulnerable relationship song “Special.” Check out both of them below.
