At a time when album releases have largely faded and initiatives for children’s content have dwindled even further, architect, filmmaker, lyricist and composer Enamul Karim Nirjhar once again positions himself against the tide.

His latest initiative, a children’s music album titled “Hao Mao Khao”, features five original tracks written and composed by Nirjhar, with musical arrangement by Autumnal Moon. The album has been produced through the joint CSR–ISR process, with corporate social responsibility funding provided by Sheltech.

In line with the CSR–ISR collaborative effort, the album brings together vocal performances by Mrinmoyee Megha, Aroni Kathleen Murmu, Samah Fatiha Said, Prafulla Anshuman and Tanvir Alam Sajib.

Speaking about the project, Nirjhar said that the songs explore the diverse emotional world of children—their imagination, complaints, wonder, their view of nature, their expectations from adults, and the way adults perceive them.

Alongside the young artistes, seasoned singer Tanvir Alam Sajib also lends his voice to one track, describing the experience as an opportunity to step outside his usual musical persona.

“Recording this song meant stepping out of my own character. Nirjhar bhai, as always, is wonderfully eccentric—if something unusual is happening, he calls, and then a whole workshop begins. Each song becomes a separate exercise. That’s why working with him is always such a varied experience. I believe listeners will enjoy these tracks,” he said.

The album’s first song, “Hao Mao Khao”, sung by child artiste Mrinmoyee Megha, was released yesterday on the GaanShala YouTube channel. The remaining tracks—”Hattimatim Tim”, “Tiring Biring Foringtake”, “Chhotoder Gaan Niye” and “Ei Tui Ki Korchis?”—will be released sequentially.

For Megha, the album marks her first experience recording both a song and a music video. “I had recorded a studio version earlier at Moon uncle’s studio, but this process was completely different. I couldn’t believe how much preparation went into it. I was excited and scared at the same time, but I tried to give my best,” she shared.

GAANSHALA continues to actively strengthen the CSR–ISR model, aimed at creating sustainable earning opportunities for music professionals. Several music projects have already been released under this process.
