Radio personality Howard Stern, who recently claimed he knew the ‘real reason’ Trump ran for president, took to his SiriusXM channel on Wednesday, August 6 to make a “special announcement,” following the shocking news of his show’s alleged cancellation.
Stern, who is on his regularly scheduled summer vacation from June to September, posted about the pause of his break on the show’s official Instagram page just before he went live to make the statements.
The page’s post read, “SURPRISE! Howard Stern is LIVE, with a call to fans to tune into his Sirius channel, Howard 100.” It comes after Stern revealed a bombshell conspiracy about why Trump became president.
The radio show also added in the caption that the announcement would be made alongside Lars Ulrich for Metallica, who helped save music festival Tomorrowland following a stage fire.
After the pair chatted for a while, Stern urged Ulrich to release the announcement to his listeners. The rocker went on to reveal, “We are so psyched. We are so honored. We’re so f—–g grateful to be able to say the following statement: Metallica is getting its own Sirius Channel.”
Stern then said to Lars, “Could you imagine, when you started, driving around that f——g van, that you’d have your own radio channel with Sirius, this is a big deal. Channel 42 on Sirius and the SiriusXM app starting Friday, August 29.”
Despite the exciting news, fans were not impressed, and some even begged Stern to address the recent cancellation rumors. One wrote, “What a boomer way to announce something. It isn’t 2009 anymore, Metallica!”
“How about addressing the cancellation rumors?” another questioned, with a third saying, “I wonder if this supposed news of SiriusXM canceling his show will somehow get brought up.”

“Channel 42 right at the end of the Rock and Roll dial there, right, 42 will be Maximum Metallica, it will be called, and it comes at the end of the month,” Ulrich continued.
This comes just after the U.S. Sun reported in another August 6 article that Stern’s iconic SiriusXM radio show, which has had a 20+ year run, would be “canceled”.
A source told the publication, “Stern’s contract is up in the fall and while Sirius is planning to make him an offer, they don’t intend for him to take it.”
“Sirius and Stern are never going to meet on the money he is going to want. It’s no longer worth the investment,” the inside source exclusively told The Sun.
They added that fans should expect Sirius to potentially make a deal to earn rights to his expansive library.
“But as far as him coming back to doing the show, there’s no way they can keep paying his salary,” the source said firmly. “After you saw what happened with Stephen Colbert, it’s like they just can’t afford to keep him going.”
