Howard Stern has set the record straight about Oprah Winfrey. The legendary broadcaster guested on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show and addressed several topics, one of which was his alleged enmity with Winfrey. Stern assured fans that Winfrey was not his enemy.
Howard Stern tells Andy Cohen he loves Oprah Winfrey
Howard Stern has assured his fans that Oprah Winfrey is not his enemy, and in fact, he loves her. Stern guested on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show, Andy Cohen Live, where he answered some pertinent questions about his life and career (via Entertainment Weekly).
Cohen asked, “I think about who are Howard Stern’s kind of enemies at this point, or punching bags. And I get the sense that you’ve either publicly or privately kind of mended fences with them, but it seems like Oprah might be the only kind of Howard Stern foe or enemy that you still have?”
Stern, appeared to be taken aback by Cohen’s question, firmly replied, “No, I love Oprah.” Cohen then prodded Stern to answer further. The radio host revealed that he follows and enjoys her show, The Oprah Winfrey Show. Cohen asked him if he had even spoken to Winfrey, to which Stern replied, “Never.”
Furthermore, Stern hinted that perhaps Winfrey wasn’t very keen or comfortable meeting him. He revealed, “I think she’s afraid. I know [Winfrey’s best friend] Gayle King very well. And I think at one point she suggested, ‘Oh, we should get together with Oprah.’ I said, ‘You better check with Oprah. You better. Don’t surprise her with me.’”
It is no secret that Stern has always been critical of Winfrey and her talk show. In the past, he accused the famous talk show host of flaunting her wealth on social media.
At the time, he said, “Oprah’s not embarrassed by her wealth at all. She loves showing it off (via celebrity.land).
Stern attempted to clarify his past comments about Winfrey on Andy Cohen’s show. He explained, “I like sometimes how Oprah is so unaware. Maybe she is aware, but I suspect, I’m an Oprah follower, but sometimes she’s unaware of the sort of way she shows her wealth.”
Notably, Winfrey hasn’t shed light on Howard Stern’s comments about her yet.
