Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom may be focusing on healthily co-parenting their daughter, Daisy Dove, but insiders claim Perry’s new romance with the former Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, has caused a rift between the two lovers. In fact, insiders claim that while they could be co-parenting, a friendship may never happen.
So it all started with a response to a joke the satirical news site The Onion made. After Perry was seen with Trudeau, the outlet made a mock-up photo of Bloom on a romantic date with retired German politician Angela Merkel. Bloom actually responded to the post with a string of clapping emojis; and allegedly, this upset Perry a lot.

An inside source told OK! UK via The Mirror: “Katy feels very let down and humiliated by Orlando, but she’s also realising that he wasn’t the right person for her. He’s showing his true colours and it’s really very hurtful and spiteful to her, especially as it probably means the end of any possible friendship with him in the future.”
They added, “She hoped they’d both be mature after the break-up so she’s feeling really disappointed.”
This news also comes after insiders claimed Bloom is “feeling the burn” after Perry moved on, per Heat World UK, saying: “He realises he could have been nicer to Katy. Now he’s seeing she’s doing just fine without him, if not better.”

For those who don’t know, Bloom and Perry met back in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty, and within a few months, they started dating. They confirmed their romance in May 2016 with a now-archived Instagram post. However, within less than a year, they actually split up. But their breakup didn’t last long either because they were spotted together in the summer of 2017, and then got back together by Jan 2018. After that, they got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019.
In March 2020, they announced they were expecting a child in Perry’s music video for her song “Never Worn White.” Then, on Aug. 27, 2020, they welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove Bloom into the world.
However, they broke up after nine years together in 2025. Since then, she’s been seen with Trudeau, and while Bloom made headlines with Sydney Sweeney during Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding, it was never anything more than friendship.
