“I was recently the victim of a government shutdown,” Kimmel pointed out. “They are reversible, I will tell you that.”
The audience cheered wildly at the line, a reminder of how Kimmel was suspended by Disney in mid-September after a threat from Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr and attacks by President Donald Trump over comments he made about the suspect in the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The suspension was lifted days later.
