Kanye West has returned to X to announce his upcoming concert in South Africa.
Ye’s been quiet on the platform for a few weeks since the disastrous launch of his cryptocurrency, YZY Money, in August. That changed with a post on Sept. 19 revealing an upcoming show in Johannesburg on Dec. 13.
In his announcement, Ye referred to the show as his “only performance in South Africa.” According to Nigerian Entertainment Today, the show will be Ye’s first performance in South Africa in 12 years.

Back in 2013, Ye headlined the Castle Lite “Feel the Beat of the Sub-Zero” concert at The Dome in Johannesburg.
Ye’s new show reveal comes right on the heels of the release of the new documentary, In Whose Name?, which covers key moments in Ye’s relationship with the music industry and the public.
In one scene from the film, Ye argues with Kris Jenner about the public’s speculation over his mental health. “No one from the family has taken any responsibility for my hospital visit,” Ye tells Kris. “But if you were to go online, that’s 50 percent of what people say, at least. Am I lying?”
After Kris says “It doesn’t matter,” Ye responds by screaming, “It do matter! It does matter! It does matter!”
In honor of the film coming out, YesJulz, who’s claimed previously that she worked for West, shared a picture that showed her in a high-tech chair surrounded by screens and connected to a device via her head — explaining that the reason for that was because of her then-boss.
“In honor of the doc dropping today, I’ll be sharing a few of my favorite memories from working with Ye on Snapchat,” she wrote alongside the picture. “This pic is from that one time he had a brain doctor put a brain scan machine in his hotel room at the Trump towers in Chicago to assess the teams brains.”
In other recent Ye news, the artist has been accused by Dave Blunts of trying to groom him. In an unreleased song that surfaced online in mid-September, Bluntz addressed his relationship with Ye.
“Cut off Kanye West, because that n***a tried to groom me,” says Blunts in the song’s first clip that hit the internet. “N***as in my city talking bout how they gonna sue me.”
“Kanye West, he made me diss the Jews,” Bluntz rapped on a longer version of the track that surfaced as well. “ b**chs I’m speaking out this is my truth/I’m so sick and tired of being groomed… I’m not your cousin, you can’t top me… Two cousins should not have sex/Two cousins should not 69.”
