Keith Urban had to make an unexpected change in his touring schedule.
The rockstar, 57, was originally set to play Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, on Thursday, October 16, as part of his High And Alive World Tour.
However, on Wednesday, October 15, the arena shared a statement via Instagram revealing the singer-songwriter “has been advised by his longtime laryngologist Dr. Gaelyn Garrett” to “cancel his performance” as he’s dealing with “laryngitis which began earlier this week.”
“He has been placed on complete vocal rest and Dr. Garrett is optimistic that he will be back onstage for his Nashville show,” the statement read.
The arena also shared a personal statement from Urban to concertgoers. “Hey Greenville, I’m so SO sorry to have to cancel the show…I know all the logistics it takes to get to a concert these days and I’ve never taken any of that, or any of YOU for granted,” the statement read. “I’m looking forward to getting back there when we can!!!!!”

The four-time Grammy Award winner’s vocal strain comes amid his divorce from Nicole Kidman.
As Globe previously reported, on Tuesday, September 30, the Big Little Lies alum, 58, officially filed for divorce from the former American Idol judge, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
The former couple — who share daughters Sunday, 17, and Faith,14 — already signed a “Marital Dissolution Agreement” which included a parenting plan, child support worksheet and a Parenting Seminar Order.
While the two A-listers have yet to make a public statement regarding their split, a source told TMZ last month “all the signs point to the fact Keith is with another woman,” noting the news is “all over Nashville.”
