The photographer then commented on Charles’s current condition, stating: “Even keeping up with the King today is really hard work. He’s working left, right and centre with so many engagements.”
King Charles III received a diagnosis of an undisclosed form of cancer in February of last year. He successfully underwent treatment while continuing a packed schedule of official duties, reports the Express.
The diagnosis emerged following a different concern identified during a procedure to address a benign enlarged prostate. Importantly, officials have clarified that it is not prostate cancer. In September, the King personally provided an update on his condition, describing himself as “not too bad”.
During his visit to officially open the 736-bed Midland Metropolitan University Hospital facility in Smethwick, he engaged with patients who inquired about his wellbeing. He told one patient: “I am not too bad, thank you very much”.
While speaking with patients on the acute elderly care wards, the King brought levity to the conversation by quipping that he was learning that “bits don’t work so well once you get past 70”.
In May, a senior aide to the King noted that he is “managing” his illness and maintaining life as “normal as possible”.
