Megan Thee Stallion made no effort to conceal her feelings about her relationship with NBA star Klay Thompson.
“Cheating, had me around your while family playing house…” the 31-year-old rapper wrote on her Instagram story. “Got ‘cold feet.'”
“Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’???? b—h I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall,” she continued, stopping short of directly naming her NBA boyfriend. It comes after the man who shot Megan was ‘rushed to the hospital.’
Megan and Klay first became an item around July 2025 when fans caught a glimpse of him in the background of one of her Instagram posts. Shortly after, Klay also hinted at the romance, with a more definitive soft launch taking place at the rapper’s Pete and Thomas Foundation Gala, where the pair walked the red carpet side by side.
In October 2025, Megan showed up courtside at one of his Dallas Mavericks games. The pressures of being a WAG quickly took their toll on Megan, however, as she was held responsible for his lackluster performance on the court, reports the Mirror US.
“I’m from West Virginia, man. I’ve been taught a lot by some old folks, old white folks. It only takes one p—y to drag a battleship across a desert. That’s how powerful it is,” Jason Williams said on his Hoopin’ N Hollerin’ podcast. “I ain’t saying that’s what it is, but that might be what it is.”
However, Klay defended his girlfriend, stating on Instagram, “Referring to my GF as a ‘p—-y’ is so disgusting and disturbing. Especially from someone who played in the NBA. How would yall feel if I referred to your wives in such a way. Do better fellas. Very disappointing.”
For Valentine’s Day 2026, Megan discussed their relationship, suggesting everything was going well. “I didn’t even know I was going to be in my relationship, to be honest,” she shared with People.
“I think that because finally I started being in a better mind space about myself and my life, and I had already been doing a lot of work to heal me … maybe God just opened up that space for me to have somebody that loved me right. This is one of the first times that I’ve ever been just overly comfortable. I’m comfy, babe!”
Just days later, Megan revealed she was already thinking about marriage. “Manifesting my engagement, too,” she mentioned during a YouTube video with Olympians Brittany Bowe and Hilary Knight.
Despite what seemed to be a thriving, joyful relationship for the NBA star, circumstances for Klay shifted in March 2026 when his team was knocked out of playoff contention following a 137–131 defeat to the Golden State Warriors.
