Mass Attackthe undisputed pioneers of trip hop, are generating great expectations among their followers with the announcement of their planned return to the music scene in 2026. The band, originally from Bristol, United Kingdom, confirmed that they are working on new material, which would mark their first full-length work since Heligoland from 2010 and his EP from 2020 Eutopia.
However, this long-awaited return comes with a peculiarity that has attracted attention: the new music of Mass Attack will not be available on the popular platform streaming Spotify. This decision aligns with the historically independent stance of the group and its vocalist, Robert “3D” Del Najawho have often criticized the business model of streaming platforms streaming in relation to artists and copyright.
Starting next year, we will release a repertoire of recent works. The songs will be available in physical and digital formats through a new record label, with the exception of Spotify,” the band explained on social networks.
The 2026 announcement suggests a concerted effort to solidify their legacy and potentially explore new sonic territories, while maintaining the atmospheric darkness and social critique that has always characterized their influential music.
