Meghan Markle has shown Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s faces in a new Halloween-themed video she posted on social media.
The Duchess of Sussex enjoyed a family outing at a pumpkin patch on Sunday and shared a clip on Instagram to show some of the highlights of her day with her children and husband, Prince Harry.
In the footage, which she captioned “Happy Sunday,” the children can be seen running round Lane Farms in Santa Barbara and later carving their Halloween decorations at home with their dad.
Unlike other social media posts where Meghan has blurred the kids’ faces, in her latest post fans got a sneak peek of their features as they were visible briefly while playing at home as Harry worked on his pumpkin.
Even though their features appear blurry, it is the first time Lilibet’s face has been shared publicly since 2022, when Harry and Meghan released a portrait photo of their daughter to mark her first birthday.
Meanwhile, Archie’s face has not been shared publicly since the Sussexes released their official Christmas card in 2021.
After spotting the siblings’ faces in Meghan’s latest video, a fan wrote on X, “While daddy was carving a pumkin, the kids were playing around.”
Another said, “The video was so fast I didn’t even notice them!”
Meghan, who has been active on social media since launching her As Ever brand earlier this year, has only shown the back of her children’s heads to maintain their privacy on social media.
In their family’s 2024 Christmas card, Archie and Lilibet could be seen running towards their parents, who were poised to welcome them with open arms.
This cautious approach to their children’s privacy appears to be rooted in Harry’s concerns for their safety.
A source told People Magazine, “Harry has been reluctant to show his children publicly, not out of a desire to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats.
“He wants them to lead as normal a life as possible without the fear of kidnapping or harm.”
The Sussexes, who became parents to Archie in May 2019, welcomed their second child, Lilibet, in June 2021 after stepping down as senior working royals and relocating to the US.
During a conversation with close friend Courtney Adamo at the Godmothers Bookstore earlier this week, Meghan discussed Courtney’s new book, The Family Home: Inspiring Ideas For A Home Filled With Joy, and how it has influenced her own approach to parenting.
Meghan shared that she uses the “rose and thorn” method from the book with Archie and Lilibet, a technique designed to encourage more than just “yes-or-no” answers to questions.
Speaking about Lilibet, Meghan said, “Our daughter, she’s four and she’s a very strong personality and she’s incredible.”
She added, “And now she’s in this moment where I say, ‘What’s your rose and your thorn?’ And she goes, ‘My day was just a blast.”
In addition to this, Meghan disclosed another unique family tradition that she and Harry follow when Archie or Lilibet falls ill.
The family uses a “healing blanket” for comfort during sickness, a gift from Victoria Jackson, a former QVC cosmetics mogul and co-owner of the bookstore.
