One “nepo baby” turns against another!
Meghan McCain slammed Violet Affleck in an X post on Wednesday, September 25, per Entertainment Weekly.
“Every single thing about all of this is why people hate nepo babies so much,” the former View cohost, 40, wrote in the post about Affleck’s speech at the UN, which she took down a few minutes later.
The 19-year-old Yale freshman, whose parents are Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, addressed members of the United Nations on Tuesday, September 23, about the impact of Covid on children.
“She has no business speaking at the UN and what she is speaking about is patently absurd,” wrote the daughter of late former senator and presidential candidate John McCain, who calls herself a “nepo baby” in her X bio.
According to People, Affleck, who was wearing a mask, said in her speech that she was “terrified for the children who do not or soon will not know a world without debilitating pain and exhaustion, who cannot trust their bodies to play, explore, and imagine, and who will not know the potential of their own minds, unfettered by the cognitive damage of a COVID-19 infection.”
Sitting behind a sign that identified her as a “youth advocate,” Affleck spoke out on her opposition to mask bans, and urged policy makers to “recognize filtered air as a human right, as intuitively as we do filtered water.”

The A-listers’ eldest daughter previously revealed at a Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors that she had contracted “a post-viral condition” in 2019.
“I’m OK now,” she added, “but I saw first-hand that medicine does not always have answers to the consequences of even minor viruses. The COVID-19 pandemic has thrown that into sharper relief.”
