Mike Flanagan might be a frequent Stephen King collaborator, but the filmmaker has proven his adaptation skills with many other classic authors, including Edgar Allan Poe, Shirley Jackson, and Henry James. His next project will reboot another classic, The Exorcist.
Although his project isn’t a remake of the 1973 cult classic of the same name, based on William Peter Blatty‘s 1971 novel, the film is set in the same universe. Following the casting of Scarlett Johansson in her first horror role, the film has undergone a major update. Per Variety, Mike Flanagan’s The Exorcist will debut on Mar. 12, 2027.
