One little boy is truly trying to follow in his dad’s footsteps.
Brenda Mwikali, 35, recently caught her 3-year-old son Nathaniel Gatimu wearing his dad’s dress shoes to school instead of shoes his own size.
The mom of two captured the hilarious moment on video, in which viewers can see Nathaniel getting out of the car wearing his dad Timothy Gatimu’s dress shoes, which are several sizes too big on the little boy.
“POV: I had to bring my son back home on our way to school when I realized he left the house in the dads shoes,” Mwikal wrote across her video, which she simply captioned, “Why?? 😭😭😭.”

In the clip, Nathaniel struggles to walk while wearing his 34-year-old dad’s black leather shoes, trying to get inside to put on a pair of his own shoes instead.
Mwikali, who is also mom to 8-year-old daughter Bella Wairimu, tells PEOPLE that she first noticed her son was in the wrong footwear while they were driving to school drop-off.
