Irish independent artist Twisty unveils his powerful new single “Orchid Remains” this May a personal track born from unexpected inspiration, almost lost forever.
Rooted in two very different but equally moving sources, the song began to take shape after Twisty watched two thought‑provoking documentaries: one exploring the life and legacy of Brehon Law, and another uncovering ancient Irish phrases and language that have slowly disappeared from everyday use. Struck by themes of memory, legacy, things left behind, and voices fading through time, he began writing music and lyrics that wove those ideas together creating a track that toys with the lyrics and uses a catchy song.
“I started putting this together just for myself,” Twisty explains. “It was never meant to see the light of day. At one point I’d nearly scrapped the whole thing and I wasn’t sure if anyone would connect with it. But something kept pulling me back to it, and I decided to finish it. I’m really glad I did.
“Orchid Remains” is out across all major streaming platforms this Thursday.
