Nicole Kidman opened up about the life experiences that come with age, sharing her thoughts on overcoming pain despite feeling “broken.” In a recent interview, Kidman reflected on her journey following her split from country singer, Keith Urban.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Nicole Kidman spoke about the wisdom that comes with experience. When asked about the best part of growing older, Kidman responded, saying, “The best part is the experiences that you’ve accumulated.”
The Hours actress added, “So you go, ‘Oh, I’ve been here before. I actually know how to handle this now.’ Or, ‘Maybe I haven’t been in this place, but I’ve experienced something similar to this, and I do know that I will get through it.’”
The AMC Theaters brand ambassador further shared her perspective on overcoming challenges. She said, “There’s something to knowing that no matter how painful, or how difficult, or how devastating something is, there is a way through.”
“You’re going to have to feel it. You’re not going to be able to numb it,” Kidman explained. “You are going to have to feel it, and it’s going to feel insurmountable at times. You’re going to feel like you’re broken, but if you move gently and slowly—and it can take an enormous amount of time—it does pass.”
But as she gets older, Kidman wants to share the wisdom she’s gained. “I’ve seen a lot, I’ve experienced a lot, and I’ve survived a lot. I want to pass on some of that knowledge and that wisdom and whatever I’ve learned,” she expressed.
Furthermore, the 58-year-old mother emphasized that her children are a major driving force in her life. She said, “My children [give me the] purpose of being their protector and their guide, promising them that I’m here and that, no matter what, there’s always a safe place to grow up in.”
Kidman filed for divorce from Urban in late September after 19 years of marriage. The former couple has agreed to co-parent their two kids, with Kidman being the “primary residential parent.” (via E! News)
