Why October 3 Is Called Mean Girls Day
The origin of the day comes from one of the most quoted scenes in the 2004 film. Lindsay Lohan’s character, Cady Heron, has a crush on Aaron Samuels (played by Jonathan Bennett). In class, Aaron casually asks her what day it is. Cady replies: “It’s October 3.”
That single exchange turned the date into an annual fan celebration. Today, people mark the occasion by rewatching the movie, sharing memes, and sometimes even dressing in pink — a nod to the film’s famous line, “On Wednesdays, we wear pink.”
