“Today is a victory for progress and for the future,” said Clouse, Market President of Valliance Bank and Chairman of the Cleveland County Economic Development Coalition. “For too long, this project has been stalled by legal maneuvers that ignored the long-term benefits this district will bring.”
The development features an 8,001-seat performance venue that will house OU men’s and women’s basketball and women’s gymnastics while hosting concerts, Broadway shows, graduations, and other events. The district will include upscale dining, retail, and housing, creating a year-round destination.
“This performance venue isn’t just about sports. It’s about creating a vibrant space where our community can gather, work, and thrive,” said McKinney, Coalition President.
McKinney thanked past Chairmen Nimmo and Quinn, former Mayor Heikla and the City Council, the Cleveland County Board of Commissioners, and the University of Oklahoma for their important roles in advancing the project.
