Jennifer Aniston is expanding her Bel-Air property with a major renovation to a recently purchased neighboring home, city building records show.
The actress, 56, bought the adjacent five-bedroom, five-bath residence for $7.25 million earlier this year.
The 4,853-square-foot house sits just steps from her current $21 million, 8,500-square-foot mansion. This follows Jesse Watters’ recent comments about the actress.
Renovation permits filed with the city reveal she is upgrading the kitchen and three bathrooms.
The project adds to the possibility that she will convert the home into a guesthouse or private annex.
New aerial images show the property under extensive construction.
The backyard pool has been drained and resurfaced. Landscaping has been removed in the front, leaving a bare stretch of dirt. Solar panels have also been taken off the roof. It is unclear whether they will be replaced.
The expansion comes months after a man attempted to break into Aniston’s home in May.
Authorities say 49-year-old Jimmy Wayne Carwyle drove his Chrysler PT Cruiser through the security gate of her Bel-Air property while she was home.
A security guard detained him at gunpoint until officers arrived and took him into custody.
Carwyle had been harassing the actress for over a year, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors allege he sent “unwanted social media, voicemail, and email messages” beginning in March 2023. The last message reportedly came the same day as the crash.

A source told Radar Online the incident deeply unsettled Aniston.
“She was extremely shaken up,” the source said, adding she even “considered selling her property” after the break-in.
“This was her dream home, but everyone knows the address.”
The property holds personal history. Aniston purchased the mid-century style mansion in 2011 while dating actor Justin Theroux.
The couple later married on the estate.
The main home features four bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, a wine cellar, swimming pool, and guesthouse. It spans nearly two acres with views of the city and ocean.
