[Johannesburg] This December, the Sunset Music Series proudly presents a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of South African rock: 25 Years of Prime Circle. On Saturday, 6 December 2025, fans will gather at the breathtaking Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden in Roodepoort for an afternoon of world-class music, nostalgia, and unforgettable performances.

Joining Prime Circle on stage are two powerhouse acts: pop star Lee Cole, already an award-winning chart sensation, and legendary band Tree63, one of South Africa’s most beloved and internationally acclaimed exports. Together, these three acts promise an electric mix of rock, pop, and soaring ballads that will resonate across generations.

A milestone worth celebrating
The show forms part of Prime Circle’s 25th Anniversary National Roadshow and for bassist Marco Gomes, this tour is more than just a set of concerts.

“This milestone means a lot to us, because it’s 25 years of music, memories, and amazing support from our fans,” says Marco. “This tour is one big celebration, made unique by the friends who will be joining us along the way. For most dates (not all) , we’ll be sharing the stage with Tree63 and Lee Cole.”

Looking back on Prime Circle’s journey, Marco recalls unforgettable highlights: “Hearing our song on the radio for the first time, that never gets old. Later, touring internationally was massive. We were supposed to support a band at their album launch in Germany and ended up stealing the show. That was when we realised we could do this on a global stage.”

There have even been surreal fanboy moments for Marco: “I’ll never forget meeting Pat Monahan from Train. We’d just gotten married and used Train’s ‘Marry Me’ in our wedding. Two days later, we bumped into him at the airport in Berlin, invited him to our show and he came! Next thing, he’s hanging backstage with us and Cedar. That was surreal.”

A glimpse into the future
Prime Circle isn’t just looking back. They’re looking forward, with new music on the horizon.

“We’ve got a strong ballad lined up,” Marco reveals. “The heart of the song is about growth and when two people realise they’re better moving on, but without bitterness. It’s honest, emotional, and powerful. We want to release something meaningful for this milestone, not just a party track.”

And the dream isn’t over. Marco shares a bucket-list wish:
“For years we’ve wanted to perform with a full orchestra. Imagine Prime Circle with the Johannesburg Philharmonic in a proper symphonic rock show. That’s still a dream we want to make happen.”

With a legacy defined by chart-topping anthems, international tours, and a loyal fan base that spans generations, Prime Circle’s 25th Anniversary Roadshow is more than just a concert series – it’s a celebration of South African music history in the making. Joined by Tree63 and Lee Cole, the Sunset Music Series show at Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens promises to be a landmark event filled with timeless hits, unforgettable stories, and the kind of live energy that only Prime Circle can deliver.

25 Years. 3 Acts. Endless Hits. Don’t miss December’s biggest celebration of South African music.
