Prince Harry reportedly fears he could one day be stripped of his royal titles by his brother Prince William when he becomes King, it has been claimed. The Duke of Sussex, 41, stepped back from royal duty six years ago, waving behind life in the UK and swapping it for a life in Montecito, where he lives with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
While Harry doesn’t have royal duty to worry about anymore, he does still have his royal titles, including that of prince, and his dukedom of The Duke of Sussex. These are titles that he is unlikely to lose anytime soon.
However, it has now been claimed in a bombshell new book that Harry, 41, fears his royal titles could be taken away from him, especially since his disgraced uncle Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor lost his.
It is believed Harry is concerned that the loss of titles could be something he faces when his estranged brother Prince William takes to the throne.
Author Tom Bower wrote in Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family, that Harry is afraid that “the future King William could remove all the Sussexes’ titles and effectively banish him from Britain”.
It is also not something Prince William, who is first-in-line to the throne, has commented on.
Prince Harry, who has been a prince since birth, was given the title of The Duke of Sussex on his wedding day to Meghan in 2018, with Meghan becoming The Duchess of Sussex.
These are titles, given by Queen Elizabeth II, that the couple continue to use, even in America.
