When talking about the 2026 World Cup, Harry spoke about the fact that England and Scotland have qualified for next year’s tournament, which will be held in the US, Canada and Mexico.
He then took aim at immigration policies set out by Trump’s administration by saying: “Next year, I know we are looking forward to welcoming more Brits from across the pond.
“Provided they behave, and if they make it through customs, and past ICE. The British are coming, hungry for victory and they’re thirsty.”
While Harry, 41, is no longer a working royal anymore and therefore does not technically face the same pressure as other royals to be politically neutral, his decision to criticise Trump so openly was dubbed unwise by a royal expert.
Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “Harry’s been an extra twice in the last week, once in the critically excoriated With Love, Meghan and the other on Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show.
“The former was pretty meaningless, although we learnt what foods he doesn’t like. The latter was silly, and it wasn’t wise to mock Donald Trump!”
Donald Trump is believed to have good relationships with the Royal Family, but has famously criticised both Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, whom he believes upset the late Queen when they decided to step back from royal duties in the UK.
