Queen Camilla has starred in a sweet new video as she delivers a special gift in New York City. The 78-year-old is seen on her journey to the US with baby Roo, a character from Winnie-the-Pooh.
The much-loved children’s series was founded by English author A.A. Milne in late 1925, with the first book officially published in 1926. The video’s caption read: “As we mark the 100th anniversary of the beloved Winnie-the-Pooh stories, The Queen has presented a very special gift to the New York Public Library, reuniting baby Roo with his friends from the 100 Acre Wood.
“The Library is home to the original collection of toys owned by Christopher Robin Milne, son of A.A. Milne, which inspired the characters in the beloved Winnie-the-Pooh series. The collection is missing Roo, the baby kangaroo who was lost in an orchard in the 1930s.
“The new addition of Roo was created by Shropshire-based company Merrythought, who also created the original toys.”
The video shows Roo being taken from England to the US, with Queen Camilla seen with him in her bag on the plane.
Camilla is then seen, with Roo in tow, at the end of his journey at the New York Public Library.
Royal fans were delighted by the sweet new video, with one fan commenting: “THIS IS SO CUTE! (And well done to the social team on this video!)”.
Another added: “this is the BEST!!!!!!! [hand-raise emoji].”
A third wrote: “Best news I had all week! Thank you Queen Camilla for bringing Roo back to Pooh and friends!!!”
A fourth simply wrote: “This is absolutely adorable [red-heart emoji].”
