The Royals dropped their ninth game in the last 10, losing to the Red Sox 4-3 at Kauffman Stadium. Jarren Duran’s two-run homer in the seventh gave Boston the lead for good as Kansas City was swept in the three-game series. Salvador Perez homered and collected three hits, while Michael Wacha turned in his fourth straight quality start despite the loss.
