Popular pop singer Lola Young is speaking out after collapsing mid-song during her show Saturday night at a music festival in New York City.
Lola Young has told fans she is “doing OK now,” according to a BBC report on Sunday.
The 24-year-old singer suffered the medical episode mid-performance as she was singing “Conceited” at the All Things Go Music Festival at Forest Hills Stadium.
Health concerns also forced her to cancel a benefit concert in New Jersey the day before.
Young, carried off stage on Saturday, also canceled her performance scheduled for Friday at the Audacy’s We Can Survive benefit concert in Newark, New Jersey.
Billboard.com reports she canceled the show “due to a sensitive matter.”
Earlier in the Saturday set, Young told fans that she “had a tricky couple of days,” according to People.
“Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue, but you know what, today I woke up and I made the decision to come here, and I wanted to be cool … and sometimes life can throw you lemons, and you just gotta make lemonade.”
“It’s tricky,” Young, 24, told the publication. “I used to watch others go through it and wonder what it felt like.”
Billboard said Young “powered through” four songs Saturday before “falling backwards.”
Young stopped to communicate with her keyboardist before falling, according to Billboard.
Her band, team and security rushed to help her, and that she was down for about “30-45 seconds” before being carried off the stage, the media outlet reported.
Young also told People in a previous interview that the public “scrutiny” she experiences can be too much to handle sometimes.
In a prior Sept. 1 cover story, the “Messy” hitmaker told ELLE UK that sometimes she “can’t go online” because of the comments that target her “insecurities.”
