“The Price is Right Live” wants audiences to “come on down” to Schenectady this spring.
The stage version of the popular game show “The Price is Right” will perform at Proctors Theatre on Wednesday, May 6. The interactive, non-televised production will feature fan-favorite games and the chance to win big prizes.
Randomly selected audience members will compete in Plinko, Cliffhangers, The Big Wheel and the showcase finale. Prizes up for grabs include appliances, electronics, dream vacations and a brand-new car. Contestants must be 18 years or older to play.
The live show, touring now for over 20 years, is based on the long-running television show “The Price is Right.” The show debuted in 1972 with long-running host Bob Barker, who became synonymous with the competition until his retirement in 2007. Following Barker’s departure, Drew Carey has hosted the televised version of the show.
“The Price is Right Live” features a rotating cast of hosts separate from its televised counterpart. Past hosts of the stage version have included “Double Dare” host Marc Summers, former NSYNC member Joey Fantone, Barker mentee Todd Newton, 98 Degrees member Drew Lachey and Jerry Springer. The production did not announce the host for the Proctors engagement.
Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Friday. VIP packages, which include special seats and a chance to spin the iconic Big Wheel, are available. For more information, call 518-346-6204 or visit atproctors.org.
