Tobey Maguire Supports Ex-Wife Jennifer Meyer at Jewelry Brand Party

Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer continue to prove they are the best of exes!

The Spider-Man actor, 50, was among the guests who attended a celebration to mark the 20th anniversary of Meyer’s eponymous jewelry brand in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 9.

Maguire looked casual in a black baseball cap and hoodie as he posed with his ex-wife at the event. For her part, Meyer, 48, wore an oversized gray shirt and black slacks for the big night.

The actor and celebrity jewelry designer met in 2003 and tied the knot in a Hawaii wedding in 2007. The couple welcomed their daughter, Ruby, now 18, in November 2006, followed in May 2009 by son Otis, 16.

Maguire and Meyer announced their separation in October 2016 after nine years of marriage.

“After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple,” the couple said in a statement to Us Weekly at the time. “As devoted parents, our first priority remains raising our children together with enduring love, respect and friendship.”

Meyer filed for divorce from her estranged husband in 2020, four years after they went their separate ways.

Despite their romantic relationship ending, Meyer and Maguire have remained good friends and coparents over the years.

Two years after their split, Meyer told Us in 2018, “He’s my best friend. He’s the greatest ex-husband a girl could ever have.”

“The day begins with the kids and ends with the kids,” the jewelry designer added. “So you manage to get your time in and work hard in the middle, you know? They’re really amazing kids, so we figure it out together. It just manages to work out really well.”

In June 2022, Meyer further gushed over her bond with the Spider-Man: No Way Home star during an appearance on “The World’s First” podcast.

“It’s been the most beautiful experience of my life having this beautiful breakup,” Meyer said. “I can’t even explain. I would literally do anything in the world for Tobey. He is my brother. I love him to death, and we have the most beautiful family.”

She added, “The work is a motherf***er, I’m not gonna lie. And we did a lot of work to stay on track to stay a family. It was a choice, and it was trusting in, like, the universe has got our back.”

Nearly a decade since their split, the exes continue to show a united front. In June, Meyer shared a sweet tribute to Maguire to mark his 50th birthday.

“Happy happy 50th birthday to the greatest ex-husband, the greatest best friend, and the greatest dad,” she wrote on Instagram alongside several photos of Maguire with their kids. “You are wonderful in every way and we all love you to the moon and back! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOBEY. ♥️✨💕”

Us reported in August that Maguire filed court documents requesting joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s minor son. The actor asked for child and spousal support “to be determined through private mediation.”
