Turning Point USA fans are trying to solve a mystery after Charlie Kirk’s wedding picture appeared to be missing from his bookshelf on his podcast.
Shortly after her husband was fatally shot in September, Republican Erika Kirk vowed that his podcast, The Charlie Kirk Show, would continue. She’s been hosting the show ever since, but viewers have noticed that she’s moved her wedding photo from the bookshelf in the background.
One X user named Kira shared side-by-side snaps of Charlie with the wedding photo behind him and Erika with a different piece of decor in its place, and wrote, “People noticed that Erika Kirk has removed the wedding photo with Charlie Kirk from his bookshelf.” This comes after Erika claimed a “larger audience” wanted Kid Rock for the Super Bowl Halftime Show instead of Bad Bunny.
In the comments section of Kira’s post, several fans gave their theories about the missing photo, with one person writing, “Maybe it hurts too much to look at that photo, and removing it helps in her healing process?”
Another defended Erika by saying, “People have too much time on their hands. There are a hundred reasons she could’ve moved that picture, and not one of them affects me personally or is any of my business lol.”
A third agreed, “Maybe it’s on her nightstand? People judge too much,” as a fourth chimed in, “god forbid a woman wants to redecorate.”
A fifth commented, “Goodness gracious!!! She just moved a picture and you create drama. Really!!!!”
Yet another argued, “Grief hits different for everybody. Maybe the photo hurts too much to see daily while she’s running the show from his old spot? Or she’s just redecorating the empire But 5 months is fast though… anybody got the full story?”
However, several fans bashed Erika and claimed she removed the wedding photo because she wants to move on.
One person said, “Removing the wedding photo says a lot without saying anything,” as another penned, “At some point, she has to move on with her life.”
Shortly after Charlie’s death, Erika joined The Charlie Kirk Show, where she reassured listeners that his podcast would continue.
“The Charlie Kirk Show is not going anywhere. My husband’s voice will live on. The show will go on,” the Turning Point USA CEO said.
“We will have rotating hosts, rotating casts, rotating people coming on. Unbelievable. We will have consistency. The Members Only group will continue to go on.
“All of his socials that God has blessed us with, the people who follow those socials, will go on. Nothing is changing.”
Erika added, “But I want to preface: we’re not awkward, we’re not weird, we’re not cringe. We’re not going to be tweeting as if it’s him. That’s tone-deaf and really disturbing, and anyone who does that is, like, morbidly off.
“That’s not what’s happening. What’s happening is the team is keeping this alive, because we have Charlie in each and every one of us, and it is going to be continually the North Star of the conservative movement, of the voice of the youth, of the voice of the base, and that will not end.”
“We’ll never be silenced,” she concluded during her appearance. “That’s why continuing his platform in a beautiful, honorable way will reinforce that we will never be silenced.”
On Sunday, February 8, Turning Point USA hosted the All-American Halftime Show in opposition to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime performance.
The headliner featured Kid Rock, while other country singers Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert, and Gabby Barrett also took to the stage.
At the start of the show, ahead of the Puerto Rican rappers’ performance, Turning Point honored Charlie by saying, “This one’s for you, Charlie.”
At the end of the All-American Halftime Show, the organization played a montage clip of Charlie with his family and colleagues as he spoke about his initiative.
