The Times-Picayune and NOLA.com will debut two new live shows this year to give the U.S. an inside look at two of the most iconic events in New Orleans, the Jazz & Heritage Festival and French Quarter Fest.
The live shows will feature artists, chefs, creatives, musicians and local celebrities who help bring both festivals to life. Segments will be hosted by our journalists including music reporter Keith Spera and food reporter Ian McNulty.
The segments are made possible in partnership with with the Louisiana Office of Tourism and New Orleans & Company.
“We are thrilled to partner with NOLA.com to bring the sights and sounds of the French Quarter Festival and New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival to audiences everywhere. From the music and food to the people and traditions, these world-class festivals truly capture the heart and soul of Louisiana, and through this partnership, we’re able to share that magic with the world,” said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. “We invite everyone to tune in, come visit, and see firsthand how every note, every bite, and every moment in Louisiana helps you Feed Your Soul.”
The first live show kicks off Thursday, April 16, the first day of French Quarter Fest. Live shows will air each morning and evening for Jazz Fest. They will begin on Thursday, April 23, and run each day of the festival until the last day, Sunday, May 3. You’ll be able to watch on the NOLA.com homepage and app.
“The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival isn’t just a festival – it is a showcase of everything that makes New Orleans special, authentic: our music, our food, our culture, and most importantly our people,” said Walt Leger, CEO of New Orleans & Company. It reminds the world why New Orleans remains one of the most distinctive and celebrated cities anywhere. Jazz Fest brings us all together year after year, decade after decade, and it is a reminder that music is at the core of who we are.”
