As the NFL’s most successful franchise, the New England Patriots are bound to have vociferous supporters and detractors alike. The NFL map is pockmarked with victims of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady’s reign, after all.
But for those hailing from the New England area — places like Lexington, Mass., Burlington, Ver., Concord, Rhode Island and more — the Pats mean more. They are a family heirloom whose likeness sprawls walls and floors across the region.
New England has a passionate base of supporters in its corps. The fanbase also includes luminaries; actors, musicians and athletes alike that have embraced the red, white and blue in recent years.
So, who are the most notable Patriots fans? Here’s what you need to know.

Who are the biggest celebrity Patriots fans?
Mark Wahlberg
Wahlberg is an outspoken Patriots enthusiast, having lapped praise on the polarizing organization time and time again throughout his acting career. Wahlberg regularly sports New England gear on his travels and has even lended his acting chops to promo videos for his beloved franchise.

He also predicted that New England would reach the playoffs 2026. On its own, that isn’t the craziest of hypotheses. The Patriots went 14-3 in the regular season, contending for the top seed in the AFC until the final week of the year.
It does get more impressive when you consider the fact that Wahlberg made that prediction after New England dropped two of its first three games.
The Patriots did him one better, dropping just one game during the rest of the regular season before besting the Chargers, Texans and Broncos to punch their ticket to Super Bowl 60.
Cardi B
A recent addition to the list of high-profile Patriots supporters, Cardi B’s affinity for New England is influenced primarily by her romance with Patriots wideout Stefon Diggs. The two began dating ahead of the 2025 season, Diggs’ first with the franchise. He proceeded to turn back the clock, posting his sixth 1,000-yard campaign in seven seasons.
Cardi B sat in the owner’s box alongside Robert Kraft during the Patriots’ Week 9 win over the Falcons. She has also sung Diggs’ praises on social media, becoming one of New England’s most vocal advocates in the process.
Ben Affleck
Wahlberg, Affleck and Matt Damon make up the holy trinity of Massachusetts-based actors. Unsurprisingly, all three are Patriots supporters, with Affleck recently waxing lyrical about his beloved club’s resurgence in the post-Tom Brady era.
“Honestly, it’s kind of shocking to me,” Affleck said of New England’s 2025 campaign during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” “I thought I’d have to wait another whole like series of lifetimes for New England to have a good football team again.”
Affleck explained the origins of his fandom during his interview with Kimmel, revealing that his father, a “small-time bookie”, would turn gamblers’ debts into new appliances.
“I remember our first washing machine and our first VCR, in fact, Dad coming home like, ‘You can thank Steve Grogan for this,’”Affleck said. “’Everybody keeps betting the Patriots to beat the spread.’ And so I really was grateful that the Patriots were terrible, to thank Steve Grogan’s knees for our VCR.”

Matt Damon
Like Affleck and Wahlberg, Damon shares a fondness for his hometown side. The Cambridge, Mass. native is a known admirer — and friend — of Tom Brady, praising the former Patriots hurler for his tenacity during an appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show” in 2016. Brady, at that time facing a four-game suspension for his role in Delategate, predicted that Brady would be inspired by his four game absence to start the season.
“I look at it the other way, that Tom is going to be pissed,” Damon said. “And him pissed is a good thing for the New England Patriots faithful. We love seeing him like that.”
He was right. Brady and the Patriots went on to mount the biggest Super Bowl comeback in history en route to capturing their fifth Lombardi Trophy.
A recent appearance on the “New Heights” podcast confirmed Damon still holds New England close to his heart. He expressed delight over Drake Maye’s performances throughout the 2025 season and told co-hosts Jason and Travis Kelce that “the future is bright” for the organization regardless of when they exited in the postseason.
He was more right than he could have known.
Maria Menounos
Menunous is one of New England’s longest-serving celebrity fans. The famed television host and Medford, Mass. native is a regular attendee of Patriots games, making appearances the 2017 AFC Championship as well as New England’s Week 13 win over the Giants in 2025.
Her social media feed is littered with images highlighting her passion for the Pats. In 2019, she even conducted an official workout at Brady’s TB12 facility. The gesture certainly screams super fan.
Great day at @TB12sports learning about all the amazing therapies and body work that they do. Their youngest client is 3 and their oldest is 89. Most people don’t know that it’s for everyone…at least I didn’t, but I feel like a completely new person. pic.twitter.com/c68eSmdFEB

Olivia Culpo
Culpo, a model, actress and media personality who claimed the Miss USA and Miss Universe titles in 2012, is well-known in NFL circles. Her spouse is, too; Culpo is married to 49ers star Christian McCaffrey.
Understandably, Culpo is a fixture at San Francisco games. But the Cranston, Rhode Island native’s heart lies with the Patriots, as she told Boston.com in 2018.
“The Patriots have always been a huge part of my family since I was young,” Culpo said. “Making time for the games was just something we did. I have still kept this mentality to this day and always try and attend games whenever possible.”
Love and marriage can certainly change one’s priorities. But it’s hard to imagine Culpo and her family being too upset with the Patriots’ success in recent campaigns.

Dane Cook
Cook hails from Cambridge, Mass., meaning there was only one football team he could root for during his adolescence.
The 52-year-old lapped praise upon New England and its iconic hurler, Brady, after the latter led the former to Super Bowl 51 in 2017.
Cook’s fandom has brought some mixed responses in other American cities. His 2025 comedy thriller, “Boris is Dead”, brought him to Kansas City, where he filmed for nine days. He faced some friendly banter during his time there. The source of the friendly barbs? His partisanship towards New England.
“Then there’d be a little bit of a hazing, because I’m a Patriots fan,” Cook told Kansas City Magazine in 2025. So every day I had to go through a bit of a gauntlet. We did some verbal sparring.
