The show returns for season 2 on October 23, with the entire season dropping on Netflix.

After a whole year of waiting, Nobody Wants This season 2 is finally gracing our screens, courtesy of Netflix. Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are back to their charming-but-dysfunctional relationship grind. In addition to the returning cast, there are some very exciting additions for the season, including one who may or may not be married to Adam Brody. Yep, Leighton Meester is joining the cast for this season. Huge!!
We know she plays a character named Abby, a former middle school nemesis of Joanne’s who comes back into her life in a surprising way. She’s a mommy influencer now, so basically the embodiment of everything Joanne hates. Without spoiling anything if you’re just starting to watch the season, it’s a very fun role for Leighton to play and she absolutely eats it up, in my opinion. And in terms of what she does for the plot, Leighton said in an interview with People: “I do inevitably stir up some drama there.”

She also spoke more broadly about joining the show for the season, saying, “Obviously, I am a huge fan of the show for many reasons, but I’ve been so lucky to get to know everybody involved,… [and they’ve all] been so kind and welcoming. I was really taken by everybody’s kindness and their talent, and how that whole show came together. I know that everyone has so much fun on it, and when I went on, I mean, it was one of the most fun times that I’ve had on a set.” And she jokingly added, referencing her husband, “I also know somebody on it.”
Leighton is featured in episode 5, “Abby Loves Smoothies,” making it an absolutely delightful halfway point for the season.
