There’s no doubt: “Melania” is about Melania Trump. But because the first lady is a former model, fashion plays a big role in her documentary.
In particular, the shoes.
When the “Melania” movie trailer premiered via Fox News on Dec. 17, 2025, two separate shots of Melania Trump‘s high heels made the cut: A black high-heeled stiletto boot and a pair of blue high heels.
The documentary, directed by Brett Ratner (“Rush Hour,” Marvel’s “X-Men: First Class”), chronicles the 20 days leading up to Donald Trump‘s inauguration on Jan. 20, 2025, through the eyes of the first lady as she readies to transition her family back into the White House, according to Amazon MGM Studios. The couple’s milestone 20th wedding anniversary was two days later.
“Melania,” set for release Jan. 30, 2026, will be the debut project of the first lady and former model’s new film production company, Muse Films, which she announced via social media in November 2025.
An accompanying documentary series on Amazon is planned to follow the movie.
The trailer opens with Trump at her husband’s inauguration saying, “here we go again.” It goes on to show a montage of Trump in New York, Mar-a-Lago and traveling on planes.
“Everyone wants to know, so here it is,” she says.

In her early days of modeling, the site states, Melania Trump worked in Milan and Paris, before moving to New York in 1996. She met her future husband Donald Trump two years later, at a New York fashion party.
Melania often appeared on “The Apprentice” with Donald Trump when he was host of the reality TV show on NBC. She also accompanied Trump to lavish parties at his private club, Mar-a-Lago.
