Thousands of music lovers across the tri-state area will gather at Camden’s Wiggins Waterfront Park to enjoy funk, R&B, and rock, with a view of Philly’s skyline in the background, starting Friday.
Gates for XPoNential Music Festival open at 4:30 p.m. The festival runs through Sunday evening. The festival will feature a variety of artists, including SNACKTIME, an alternative soul and funk band from Philadelphia, and Greensky Bluegrass.

Festivalgoers can replenish themselves with a variety of food and treats, including Beck’s Cajun, a Philadelphia-based Cajun restaurant, and Primo Water Ice.
WXPN, a Philadelphia-based radio station, has hosted the music festival for 32 years, according to Mike Vasilikos, a radio host and operations manager at the station.
A diverse set list is a recurring theme for the festival, he said.
“The festival is a reflection of what we do at WXPN,” Vasilikos said. “We bring music of all sorts of different styles and genres and ages together on our airwaves and then in person at the festival.”
The festival also represents WXPN’s mission of promoting up-and-coming artists and exposing its community of listeners to new music.
“Music discovery is key to our mission. So you get a lot of bands on the rise at our festival,” Vasilikos said. “We get to bring our community together and connect them to the artists that they hear on the station.”
While Vasilikos said he couldn’t remember exactly when the Waterfront began hosting the festival, the station has gone back to Camden year after year.
“It’s an incredible space,” Vasilikos said. “We have two stages, it’s a very comfortable back and forth between stages, so there’s no overlap between music.”
The view of Philadelphia’s beautiful skyline in the background also adds to festivalgoers’ experience, he said.

You can buy tickets for all three days of the festival or for individual days here. If you can’t make it in person, you can listen to the festival on WXPN’s website.
