Joshua Allen, who won Season 4 of the FOX dance competition “So You Think You Can Dance,” has died at the age of 36.

A family member of Allen’s told TMZ he died on Tuesday, Sept. 30. The family did not share the cause of death and asked fans for “privacy and prayers.”

The U.S. Sun reported that Allen’s body was found near train tracks in Fort Worth, Texas, early Tuesday morning.

Police told the media outlet that a person was hit by a train on Sept. 30. He was listed as a “homeless Black male,” by the medical examiner’s preliminary information. No additional information was provided.

Emmanuel Hurd, a choreographer and friend of Allen, wrote about the news on Instagram.

“I can’t wrap my head around this…Josh…my brotha,” he began. “There are no words. You were the life of the party. You were Batman. Champion. One of the realest people I ever met. Kept it a stack every time and would make it right if you fell short. A real King. This one hurts deep.”

Allen was 18 when he was crowned the winner of “So You think You Can Dance” in 2008, according to People. He then went on to star in 2010’s “Step Up 3D,” 2011’s “FootLoose” remake and an episode of “American Horror Story” in 2011.

Deadline reported that the dancer was sentenced to one year in county jail after pleading no contest to domestic violence.
