If you were obsessed with pop culture in the early 2000s like we were, you might remember an iconic moment that occurred between G Hannelius and the queen herself, Beyoncé.
In a “Who Wore It Best” article featured in a magazine almost a decade ago, a photo of the Disney Channel star and a photo of Beyoncé were placed side by side, both rocking the same short sleeve, black-and-white striped mini dress.
The point of the article was to determine which celeb styled the dress the best, and to everyone’s surprise, Hannelius actually beat Queen Bey in the end. “Beyoncé and G both rock this dress! But while Bey’s pulls a little around the middle, G’s fits her perfectly,” the caption wrote — how wild is that?
Given the fact that hardly any celebrities ever beat Beyoncé, it is safe to say that the Dog With a Blog star has yet to let this victory go, acknowledging her win once again via Instagram and TikTok.
Styling the piece in a whole new way, over the weekend, Hannelius shared a TikTok video donning the iconic striped mini dress that she beat Beyoncé in, overlayed with her latest tune: “Reckless.”
She captioned the post, “Is this reckless enough???” naturally causing an uproar in the comment section.
Some were stunned that Hannelius still owned the dress — “HOW DO U STILL HAVE ITTT,” one wrote, while another added, “YOU STILL HAVE IT??????!!” — and others mentioned how legendary of a callback the TikTok video is.
“You’re keeping Bey on her toes girl,” one commented, while another added, “This is so culturally important.” “Does everyone understand how important this is to me!?!?!” a third exclaimed.
The Disney Channel star then doubled down on the look, sharing a series of photos to Instagram with the exact same caption, simultaneously tagging Beyoncé in the process.
Naturally, fans had a field day in the comment section once again, with one writing, “I mean this is just incredible,” and another adding, “you will always wear it better 👏”
A third gushed, “You don’t know how much this means to me,” and we seriously could not agree more!
Another acknowledged how wild it is to tag Beyoncé in the post — ensuring that the “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” singer would see it — garnering almost 5,000 likes on their comment that reads, “Tagging her is so brave.”
While Beyoncé has yet to clap back, it is safe to say that we will be keeping up with G Hannelius on social media for any further updates regarding the resurfacing of this iconic “Who Wore It Best” meme.
