If you’re ready to cut the cord but don’t want to give up live TV, a live TV streaming service can be a worthwhile option. DirecTV — our favorite streaming service for sports — is making the switch easier than ever, just in time for one of the most content-rich stretches of the year.
The platform has launched its first-ever flash sale, which drops the price of DirecTV’s Signature Entertainment package to $50 for the first month, down from its usual price of $90. This offer runs through Jan. 6, and is available to all new streaming customers, with or without a device.
The Signature Entertainment package gets you more than 90 channels, including ESPN, celebrity.land, Food, ABC, FOX, FS1, CBS, SEC Network and ACC Network. You’ll also enjoy popular holiday movies and shows across AMC, Hallmark Channel, Freeform and Lifetime, perfect for those cozy, late-night streaming sessions. On top of that, it includes more than 130 free, ad-supported channels via MyFree DirecTV, unlimited cloud DVR, and ad-supported Disney Plus with Hulu when used with a Gemini device.
DirecTV has also reduced prices of its Genre packs. For instance, MyKids with Disney Plus is now $15, while the MyNews Pack has dropped to $35, after a $5 discount on each. You don’t have to sign a contract for any of the packages, and they can be cancelled anytime.
Why this deal matters
If you’ve been thinking of switching to a live TV streaming service, this flash sale makes it easy to try one out without emptying your wallet. It wraps up on Jan. 6, so be sure to grab the discount before then.
