Benson Boone is drawing internet attention with his new music video featuring Alix Earle.
The video for Boone’s song “The Time of My Life,” which was released on June 25, opens with the pair preparing to take the stage for a performance. In a dressing room scene, Earle, 25, asks the Grammy nominee, 24, if someone special would be in attendance.
The clip then cuts to an empty reserved seat before the influencer and the “Beautiful Things” singer act out a medieval-inspired love story onstage, which includes a dreamy boat ride together, a sword fight at a bar and a battle with a dragon.
As they prepare to tie the knot, Boone runs off in a fantasy sequence to reunite with his former love, only to realize the relationship is over. He returns to Earle and the onstage wedding, where the pair share a kiss before taking their bows.
Boone shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram alongside a message to fans about “The Time of My Life.”
“I have had The Time Of My Life creating this song and video,” he wrote, adding that Earle was “a dream” who “made this whole shoot come to life.”
“I hope you guys enjoy this song so much, I’ve probably said this 90 kabillion times but this is my favorite piece of work I have ever made and I’m so proud of it,” he added. “Go listen and I hope you all watch the music video (it’s epic).”
He concluded the message, writing, “Love you guys, and I love this life. I’ll never take it for granted❤️”
Earle shared that she felt “so grateful to be a part of something so special” in a comment, adding, “still cry every time I hear this song 😅😅😅”
Fans also flooded the comments section to share their thoughts on the highly anticipated release.
“I was NOT expecting them to actually kiss at the end. Love it,” one fan shared on YouTube.
“I almost cried. His voice is so magical!!!!!” another fan posted, with a third adding, “I think my heart just stopped beating for a few minutes, wow!”
“I think I’m going to need a whole film of this guys. This has to be in Hollywood please,” another message read.
